Manners of Seeking Knowledge

WEEK 1 : Manners in seeking knowledge

Today I want to share with you about my first usrah session that was so much fun to me ! I got so

many knowledge about manners of seeking knowledge more than I do before thanks to my facilitator,

Amirah. She is so sweet hehe..

So, as we all know as student, we need to seek for knowledge like everyday in order to strike for

the excellent. However, many of us always forget about the manner of seeking knowledge. This may

be one of reason that we are always forget about what we learn, or it's hard to remember or our

understanding at a low level. Because the process to learn, we didn't do it in barakah and in a way

    that are teach by Islam.

Nabi Muhammad S.A.W once said that :

" THE MOST BELOVED OF ALLAH'S SLAVE TO ALLAH ARE THOSE

                                                     WITH THE BEST MANNERS "

                                                                                                                       ( Tabrani )

If we tadabbur the meaning of the hadees above, it is clear to us that everything we do, do

it in manners and ethic according to islamic teaching. So, Allah will redha with all of our doing.

Without further do, I will state the manners in seeking knowledge that I got and learn from

      the usrah :

  •       Have faith in Allah
Actually, everything we do, we must have faith in Allah, that's why Islam encourage us to

start everything with bismillah. We all know, we study to get the perfect grade, but, do we involves

Allah in that process ? No. Allah is the one who own all the knowledge and we know only a little

about it. So, in the process of seeking knowledge, we need to always ask for Allah's help and

always make a dua. Even when we did not achieve our target for examination, don't give up

because Allah know all of your struggle and He is the one who give the achievement to us.

  •       Allah is number one priority
Sometimes, when we study, we tend to postpone or delay salah, which is wrong. As a muslim,

salah should be our number one priority because it is one of the pillar of  Islam and it is the only

we have the deep communication with Allah. As I mentioned earlier, Allah is the one who own the

knowledge, so he is the one who give the knowledge to whoever person he liked to, so, busy is not

a reason to delay our number one's priority which is Allah.

  •          Always ask
There is one malay proverb that I always remember which is "Malu Bertanya Sesat Jalan"

This proverb hits me so hard because I, once was so scared to ask a question in class. I am scared

with person's perspective that I am annoying and so on. One day, I suddenly have enough strength

to ask a question in class and the teacher answer my question so nicely. After that class, my

classmates suddenly thank me because I asked a question that they are also didn't know about. Then

I realize that, ask a question is not that scary, and it makes me understand better. There may be

people who are annoyed because I always ask a question but I think there is more people who thank

me because if I ask a question, I can help at least one person understand the topic's material better.

That's all from me this time, I hope this post can be benificial for others ^^
