Hadith Jibril

WEEK 2 : HADITH JIBRIL

Hi ! So recently we had another usrah session with our facilitator (naqibah) and I learned a great knowledge that I didn't know before. Prophet Muhammad S.A.W once said :

Whoever teaches some knowledge will have the reward                                               of the one who acts upon it, without that detracting from his                                                                      reward in the slightest.”

So, I would like to conclude and share to the public about what I learned from the previous session.

First of all, you guys must be wondering about; what is hadith jibril ? Without further do, let me explain about it. So, Hadith jibril is basically hadith of our prophet Muhammad S.A.W which explain the religion of Islam in concise manner. This hadith was narrated by prophet Muhammad S.A.W when Jibril come and asked him about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan.

From the authority of `Umar (radi Allaahu 'anhu), who said:

One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black; no signs of journey were to be seen on him and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down in front of the Prophet ﷺ, with his knees touching against the Prophet's ﷺ and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs he said: “O Muhammad, tell me about Islaam.

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “Islaam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allaah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, to perform prayers, to give zakaah, to fast in Ramadaan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so.”

He said: “You have spoken rightly”; and we were amazed at him asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly.

He (the man) said: “Tell me about Eemaan.

He (the Prophet, ﷺ) replied:
It is to believe in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny (qadr), both the good and the evil of it.

He said: “You have spoken rightly.”He (the man) said: “Then tell me about Ihsaan.”

He (the Prophet, ﷺ) replied: It is to worship Allaah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you.”

To be conclude, to be a perfect muslim, we need to perfect our islam, iman and ihsan. This three related to each other. If you undestand and implement the concept of islam, iman, and ihsan, inshaAllah we will be a perfect mulim together.
